School Based Health Centers Support Students Statewide

More than 70 School Based Health Centers across the state help children and teens get the care they need right where they are—at school.

Because they are located in or near schools, getting care at these health centers means less time away from the classroom and less time off work for parents or guardians to get to appointments. These centers follow the state’s parental consent laws, making them a trusted partner for both students and adults and ensuring close communication with parents or guardians. Community health centers and other health care organizations partner with schools across the state to provide care.

At School Based Health Centers, kids can receive comprehensive primary care, regardless of insurance coverage, including services such as:

  • Annual exams
  • Sports physicals
  • Immunizations
  • Medications
  • Illness and injury treatment
  • Behavioral health care
